Create Birdseed Wedding Favors

Just how did birdseed get where it is today at the end of most wedding ceremonies?

Over the years, brides and grooms have been pelted with a variety of substances to celebrate their wedding. Even things like shoes, onions and salt have been thrown at the couple, as opposed to the most recent (traditional) items such as rice and wedding birdseed. It was originally intended that throwing rice was a guest's way of wishing the couple a productive life with many children. This rice tossing began in Asia, where rice symbolizes abundance and fertility. In the past few decades though, rice was believed to be harmful to birds. However, most ornithologists say this is not true. What is true is that rice does create a slippery surface for people. In light of this hazzard, many alternatives have been used, such as, tossing birdseed. Birdseed has become very popular as it is safer for birds and guests! Today, it is easy to create birdseed wedding favors - throwing wedding birdseed is a environment friendly way to wish the couple good luck in their new marriage.
