Decorative Organization
In visible areas, use containers similar in either texture, color or shape. Your home will immediately look more attractive and feel more organized. Trunks, boxes, baskets and plastic containers are all good options to hide clutter. Many items such as wine corks or marbles can become decorative if put in clear glass containers.
Creating Balance
If a room doesn’t look or feel quite right, try adding pairs of matching pillows, lamps or candles. However, pairs don’t have to be identical. You can create them if they’re similar in size. Example: a lamp on a table and a floor lamp works if they are similar in overall height.
Artwork Arrangement
It’s a common mistake to hang pictures too high and to have too many things on the walls. Be selective ... hang just your favorites or rotate items with the seasons. (That way you can really appreciate what is on display.) In addition, your eyes need a place to rest, so leave one wall empty.

Don’t feel you must have original ideas to decorate your home. Go to model homes and notice displays at furniture stores. Check out books at the library. Visit the many internet sites too.
